Reverend Erica Richmond
Chair of the Development Committee

Reverend Erica Richmond is a Unitarian Universalist minister and currently serves as the palliative care and oncology chaplain at Hartford Hospital. She received her Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and is a board-certified chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Rev. Erica has long been committed to social justice and activism. In high school, she boycotted Massachusetts’ punitive standardized test. In this process, she learned from peers and mentors about the reality of racism in our educational systems. In 2008, she completed her undergraduate degree at Clark University, and then stayed in Worcester and earned her Master of Arts in Community Development in 2009. During that time, she did community organizing work and deepened her commitment to both faith and justice work.

Rev. Erica is delighted to be part of RE·Center– an organization that is unafraid to wade into hard, important, and needed conversations about white supremacy and the insidious impact it has on each of us as individuals and on our communities at large.

Rev. Erica is also the affiliated minister at the Unitarian Society of Hartford and serves as a commissioner on the Hartford’s LGBTQ commission. Her passions include social justice, feminism, community work, and creating space for the sacred within our healthcare systems. When she isn’t doing this work, you can find her reading page-turners, gathering with friends, or walking around Hartford.
