SabriAnan is joining the RE·Center team as the 2019-2020 Newman’s Own Fellow. SabriAnan is a recent graduate of Amherst College with a bachelor’s degree in Sexuality, Women’s, and Gender Studies and a certificate in Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice. SabriAnan’s social justice consciousness was born in 2014 with Black Lives Matter and has since transformed to a focus on collective liberation, healing, and healthcare equity.
In the future, SabriAnan hopes to enter academia as an Anthropologist. SabriAnan’s role models are former educators and mentors who committed to nurturing an equitable classroom where students of color and LGBTQ+ students felt empowered to speak up and involved. An interest in oral history and narrative as a tool for social good brought SabriAnan to RE·Center.
SabriAnan is a firm believer in the power of self- and community care. SabriAnan is on a constant journey to practice mindful and purposeful joy. SabriAnan enjoys discovering new music, exploring coffee shops, and attending open mic nights.
