About Rinne Fruster
Rinne has spent the past three years working with grassroots nonprofits committed to community empowerment and social justice in the Greater Boston Area. Rinne first entered the social justice scene during the 2014 Black Lives Matter marches for Eric Garner, and thousands of others. She was even inspired to lead her own campus-wide demonstration at Lasell College. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Diversity & Inclusion, Rinne shines brightest in public speaking, facilitating, working with youth, and marketing development.
What really drew Rinne into joining the RE·Center team was a chance to work in a space that would put young people of color’s experiences and needs first. She values being able to work for an organization that isn’t afraid to address how often systemic oppression can show up in the real world. “What motivates me, is simply wanting to empower young black and brown students. I want to change the culture, so young people will stop doubting if they’re enough, and live in a culture that affirms how sublime they can be.”
When Rinne isn’t in the office, she can be found traveling, spending time with friends and family, studying herbalism, hosting affinity conversations, about music, history, healing or collective liberation.
