Ana (she/her/ella) is an educator, facilitator, and coach dedicated to holding space for change and transformation. With 13 years of experience as a classroom teacher, curriculum designer, and facilitator, Ana partners with participants, building learning opportunities that better understand systems of oppression with a focus on a historical context and personal storytelling. She strives to build a community that moves us towards connection, interdependence and liberation. She is a partner, parent, daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, immigrant, Colombian born, Brooklyn raised, June Gemini. She began this work to be in right relationship with the children in her classroom and continues this work to heal the children within ourselves.
Aside from working with Re-Center, Ana is also an equity coach for several organizations, working with educators, families, non-profits, and organizations looking to find a path in conversations and systems change. She is also an adjunct professor, teaching courses on social studies teaching and curriculum as well as supervising student teachers in their fieldwork experience.
Ana enjoys learning new crafts, museum walks, hikes with her family, and purchasing more books than she has the time or attention span to read.
